However, after a tree fell and damaged a house during the extreme weather we have been having, State Farm not only denied our claim but canceled our insurance. There was no phone call, just a discrete letter in the mail I missed. It caused all kinds of fees with my insurance company and hardships. State Farm is insurance you don't use. Talking with others it is clear that filing claims with them can be a difficult and uncertain process. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. We are fortunate that we were able to get similar insurance at a comparable price elsewhere.
